About Me

Jay Holmes (formally known as Carl) is based in Chicago, Illinois. They finished their undergrad in Fine arts and is pursuing a degree in art therapy. Holmes’ explores contemporary social, political, and environmental issues, alongside personal themes shaping their life. They have participated in group exhibitions at Marwen Arts and showcased a solo project at C33 Gallery. Conceptually, they employ a style rooted in typology and rhythm, with a deliberate use of repetition both in the creation process and as a visual strategy, reinforcing the underlying narratives of their pieces.
